Katie Phang Sues the DOJ to Release the Epstein Files! Plus, DOJ’s BS Indictment Against Comey

Donald Trump’s Department of Justice was busy today.

No, they weren’t pursuing billionaire pedophiles who raped girls, Crypto grifters who stole millions from Americans, or violent right-wing extremists and white supremacists who are actively plotting against the government and law enforcement.

Why indict your friends and allies?

Instead, the DOJ reindicted former FBI director James Comey in the dumbest way possible. They are claiming his 2025 social media photo showing seashells on a beach forming “86 47” expressed an intent to do serious harm to Donald Trump. First, there’s literally no crime here whatsoever. Second, if there is indeed a crime, then that’s terrible news for former GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz, who also tweeted “86” against Republicans and right-wing conspiracy theorist and Trump hack Jack Posobeic, who literally tweeted, “86 46.”

Whoopsie!

All of this is intended as a warning and chilling effect on free speech and critics of Donald Trump. Don’t criticize the MAGA leader, or else suffer the consequences! MAGA is exploiting the security breach at the WHCD to promote Trump’s $400 million ballroom/bunker and engage in daily Festivus against “left-wing rhetoric.” Trump’s FCC goon, Brendan Carr, is following Melania Trump’s lead and trying to muscle ABC and affiliates to fire Jimmy Kimmel for a silly joke referring to Melania as an “expectant widow.”

Meanwhile, Trump is literally creating videos with his unwinnable war in Iran and support for Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.

Comey’s daughter, Maureen Comey, a former federal prosecutor, brought some good news for the family today. A Manhattan judge ruled that she can sue the Trump Administration for firing her for political reasons. Recall that Maureen Comey was the prosecutor on the Ghislaine Maxwell case. She was fired just before Trump’s personal attorney and acting AG, Todd Blanche, was dispatched to Florida to give Maxwell a sweetheart deal. Less than a week after their meeting, Maxwell was transferred to a minimum security camp in Texas in exchange for saying Trump had nothing to do with Epstein’s crimes.

It’s been a cover-up ever since.

Well, attorney and host Katie Phang is mad as hell and she demands answers and transparency. On Monday, Phang filed a lawsuit alleging the Justice Department failed to publish the Epstein documents and is in direct violation of the Epstein Transparency Act passed by Congress in November. According to the Guardian, “Phang, a reporter with MeidasTouch, wants the court to declare the Department of Justice in violation of the law, order the release of all required documents without unlawful redactions, and provide an explanation for any remaining redactions.”

Katie joined The Left Hook to discuss her lawsuit, the Trump Administration’s cover-up of the Epstein Files, and the DOJ being weaponized to punish and silence Trump’s critics.

Exploring Documented Records

Public interest in the Epstein case continues not only because of court proceedings and testimonies, but also due to the growing body of documented records that help researchers and readers understand the broader context. Beyond legal files and media reports, some independent projects have organized publicly available data connected to Epstein’s activities.

One example is a structured archive of documented Amazon order records, where purchases are cataloged with dates and product details. While individual items do not prove wrongdoing on their own, examining documented information alongside established facts helps paint a clearer picture of the environment and circumstances surrounding the case.
